Your car air conditioning system works hard in Australian conditions. Regular servicing keeps it running efficiently and prevents costly failures, especially during summer.
Twelve provides professional air conditioning services for vehicles, light trucks and machinery across Port Macquarie and the Mid North Coast. All our technicians are ARC-licensed, ensuring the quality of our training, equipment and servicing meets all of the appropriate standards and guidelines.
We perform a range of air conditioning services at our Port Macquarie Workshop and conveniently offer same day diagnostic service. We can confidently and efficiently inspect, diagnose, regas, repair and service your car air conditioning system.
Routine servicing (every 1-2yrs) keeps your air conditioning system operating efficiently and helps prevent breakdowns. A properly serviced system runs colder, uses less energy and lasts longer.
Our comprehensive air conditioning regas or service includes the following process:
The air conditioning in your car is a fully sealed system meaning the gas that is contained in the system should not leak out. The system is specifically designed this way because the R134A refrigerant used in car air conditioning systems is toxic to our health and damaging to the ozone layer. It is essential (and legally required) that this gas is contained, not only to keep you cool but to protect yourself and the environment from the potentially harmful gas.
If you detect any of the following issues, we recommend booking in for an air conditioning diagnostic check as soon as possible.
We use a specific testing process which uses nitrogen to detect even the smallest of leaks in an underperforming air conditioning system. This process ensures that the whole system is meticulously inspected to eliminate any of the components as being faulty. This includes checking the compressor, evaporator, condenser, TX valve, fans, filters, pipes and o-rings.
If we detect a leak, a component (part) failure or potential damage from an accident then a thorough diagnosis is required. Once we have identified why your air conditioning isn’t working, is running warm or has stopped working altogether, we will provide you with an estimate to repair your air conditioning.
Air conditioning repairs and replacements are often labour intensive, meaning your vehicle may be required for 1-2 days. We understand these faults can be inconvenient so we have refined our process to ensure the downtime required for your vehicle is minimised.
All repairs and replacements are conducted according to product & manufacturers specifications to ensure the warranty on your new products are honoured. For example, if we replace your compressor, we will also need to replace the condenser, TX valve & flush the system. This is to remove any metal filings and dirty oil from the system so that when a new compressor is installed, this contamination does not fail the new part.
A further (more difficult) issue we see in air conditioning systems is the breakdown or splitting of the aluminium air conditioning lines or hoses. If we detect a leak in one of these lines, we can either replace, depending on the availability of the part, or we can repair the line or hose where possible.
The air conditioning systems in light trucks, heavy vehicles, machinery and equipment can all be serviced either in our workshop or on site with our mobile vehicle (pending availability).
We understand the importance of having your fleet air conditioning working efficiently to reduce downtime and productivity. We can ensure a professional approach to our workmanship, ensuring the diagnostic process is accurate, parts are of high quality and turnaround time is as fast as possible.
